Utilization of response surface methodology in optimization of locally sourced aggregates

This research investigated the optimization of locally sourced aggregate, mixed with variable cement ratios to determine its optimum compressive strength. Samples standard sizes local fine and coarse aggregate were obtained at popular excavation sites. The concrete materials weighed, batched, mixed, cast cured using four different mix proportions 1:2:4, 1.2:2:4, 1.4:2:4 1.6:2:4 cement, constant water/cement ratio 0.5. A total 48 cubes 150mmx150mmx150mm produced, for 7, 14, 21 28 days tested. Mathematical model equation relating strength stone variability was developed Response Surface Methodology (RSM). significance suitability confirmed analysis variance (ANOVA). ANOVA quadratic Cubic shows that adjusted R2 0.9808 F-value 227.76 in is confidently accounted by independent variable. demonstrates equation's predictions various structures are accurate.
